University field trip to Staithes

While at Uni at Durham, we had a field trip to Staithes to look at the wildlife in the intertidal zone there. What a beautiful place! It was also the location of my first Yorkshire coast fossil find, an excellent nodule that had split open to reveal not 1 but 2 perfect Dactylioceras tenuicostatum ammonites. I love these fossils and they're still amongst my favorites in my collection.
